Dual MPPT and High PV Oversizing for H1(G2)

Two Independent MPPT Trackers

H1(G2) hybrid models provide two independent MPPT trackers with one PV string per MPPT. The two trackers allow installers to separate PV strings with different roof orientations or operating conditions.

80-550V MPPT Operating Range

The MPPT operating range is 80-550VDC, with a 75V start-up voltage, 360V nominal input voltage and 600V maximum PV input voltage. Maximum input current is 16A per MPPT and maximum short-circuit current is 20A per MPPT.

Up to 12kWp PV Array on the 6kW Model

The H1-6.0-E-G2 supports a maximum PV array power of 12000Wp and maximum PV input power of 9000W. Lower-power models provide proportionally matched PV array and input limits, allowing installers to select the appropriate inverter size for the residential PV system.

High-Voltage LFP Battery Compatibility

The H1(G2)/AC1(G2) series is designed for high-voltage lithium iron phosphate battery systems with an operating battery voltage range of 80-480V.

Maximum battery charge and discharge current is 40A. CAN communication is used between compatible battery management systems and the inverter, supporting battery communication and BMS interaction.

Up to 98.5% PV-to-Battery Charging Efficiency

Maximum PV-to-battery charging efficiency is specified at 98.5%, while maximum battery-to-AC discharge efficiency is up to 97.0%. This high-voltage architecture is designed to reduce conversion losses throughout the residential energy storage system.

EPS Backup Power for Residential Loads

The H1(G2)/AC1(G2) series provides an EPS emergency power output for selected backup loads during a grid outage. Rated EPS output follows the inverter power class from 3.0kVA to 6.0kVA.

Peak EPS apparent power is available for up to 60 seconds, ranging from 3600VA on the 3kW model to 7200VA on the 6kW model. The specified EPS transfer time is less than 20ms.

Up to 97.08% Maximum Inverter Efficiency

Maximum inverter efficiency reaches up to 97.08%, depending on model. European efficiency ranges from 95.26% for the 3.0kW model to 96.33% for the 6.0kW model.

Grid-side current total harmonic distortion is specified below 3% at rated power. Power factor is 1 and can be adjusted from 0.8 leading to 0.8 lagging where supported by applicable grid requirements.

IP65 Outdoor Protection and Natural Cooling

IP65 Enclosure

The inverter is rated IP65 for dust and water protection, providing greater installation flexibility for suitable indoor or outdoor residential locations. Installation should still follow the applicable Fox ESS installation manual and local electrical requirements.

Fanless Natural Cooling

Natural cooling removes the need for a continuously operating internal cooling fan. Noise emission is specified at approximately 35dB, making the series suitable for residential energy storage installations where acoustic performance matters.

Smart Monitoring and Communication

WiFi monitoring is supported as standard, with LAN and 4G monitoring options available depending on system configuration. Users can monitor system operating data through the supported Fox ESS monitoring platform.

Communication interfaces include RS485, DRM, pulse control, USB and CAN. The system supports LCD display, app-based monitoring and web-based system monitoring.

Residential Energy Storage Applications

New Residential Solar and Battery Systems

H1(G2) is suitable for new residential PV and battery installations where the solar array, high-voltage battery, grid supply and EPS backup are managed by one hybrid inverter platform.

AC-Coupled Battery Retrofit

AC1(G2) provides an AC-coupled storage option for projects where battery storage is added to a suitable existing PV installation without routing the PV strings directly through the storage inverter.

Time-of-Use Energy Management

A residential energy storage system can be configured to store available solar energy and discharge the battery according to household consumption and supported energy-management settings. Actual operating modes should be configured according to local tariffs, grid rules and system requirements.

Emergency Backup Power

EPS functionality provides backup power for appropriately designed essential-load circuits during a utility outage. Required battery capacity should be calculated from the expected backup load, required backup duration and usable battery capacity.

System Installation and Compatibility

Before selecting an H1(G2) model, installers should verify PV string Voc, Vmp, Isc and Imp against the inverter's 600V maximum input voltage, 80-550V MPPT range, 16A MPPT input-current limit and 20A short-circuit-current limit.

Battery model, battery voltage range, maximum battery current and CAN communication compatibility should also be confirmed before commissioning. Grid connection requirements and approved inverter settings differ by destination market.

Installation, protective devices, grounding, EPS circuits, CT or meter placement and commissioning should be completed according to the applicable Fox ESS installation documentation and local electrical regulations.
