Product Description
The Ocean Solar OCE-N6K-48 is a 6kW 48V hybrid solar inverter designed for residential backup power, off-grid solar systems and small commercial energy applications. It integrates an MPPT solar charger, battery charger, pure sine wave inverter and UPS transfer function into one compact unit.
The inverter supports up to 9000W of PV input, a wide 60-450VDC MPPT operating range and a maximum PV open-circuit voltage of 500VDC. With up to 120A PV charging, 120A AC charging and 48V lithium or lead-acid battery compatibility, it provides flexible energy management for solar and battery storage systems.
For backup applications, the OCE-N6K-48 provides 6kW continuous AC output, up to 12kVA surge power, pure sine wave output and a 10ms transfer time in APP/UPS mode. Built-in WiFi and RS232, RS485 and CAN communication interfaces support local and remote system monitoring.

The OCE-N6K-48 supports up to 9000W of connected photovoltaic input for a 6kW inverter output. This allows system designers to configure a larger PV array while matching the final string voltage and current to the inverter's electrical limits.
The built-in MPPT solar charger operates across a wide 60-450VDC range, with a maximum PV open-circuit voltage of 500VDC. This provides flexibility when configuring compatible PV module strings for residential and small commercial systems.
Maximum PV charge current is 120A, and maximum AC charge current is also 120A. The combined PV and AC charging limit is 120A, allowing the system to charge a compatible 48V battery bank from solar energy or utility power according to the selected operating configuration.
In addition to its 6kW rated output, the inverter provides up to 12kVA surge power. This gives the system additional short-duration starting capability for compatible appliances and loads with higher startup demand.

The 6kW output and 48V battery architecture make the OCE-N6K-48 suitable for residential solar-plus-storage systems supplying selected household appliances, lighting, networking equipment and other backup loads.
With integrated PV charging, battery charging and inverter functions, the unit can form the core of an off-grid solar system for houses, cabins and remote properties where stored solar energy is required for nighttime and low-sun operation.
Small offices, retail spaces and other light commercial sites can use the inverter to support appropriately sized critical loads during utility interruptions. Actual backup capacity depends on connected load and battery capacity.
The specification includes a GEN transfer mode with a 20ms switching time. System wiring, generator sizing and operating configuration should be completed according to the installation requirements of the inverter and generator.
The inverter supports up to 9000W of PV input, but PV string design should not be based on wattage alone. Installers must also ensure that total open-circuit voltage remains below 500VDC and that normal operating voltage remains within the 60-450VDC MPPT range.
